About us
The South West MS Therapy Centre was formed in 1982 and has been a registered charity since November 1989.
Its main objective is, and always has been, to support people with Multiple Sclerosis in the region through the provision of oxygen therapy alongside physiotherapy and other therapies, as well as providing a social space where people using the Centre can engage with and learn from each other.
The charity also supports people with other conditions who can also benefit from the therapies provided, such as fibromyalgia, stroke, broken bones, cancer and neurological illnesses to name a few. We are also supporting people with long Covid.
As a charity we are completely self-funding and do not receive any grants from the NHS or the government. We operate a membership scheme to help subsidise the therapies for people with MS, and fundraise in different ways to help us generate the annual running costs of around £185,000 per year.
